“Searching”, started in late 2004 and completed in 2005. Using paperclay allowed me to shape and form these tentacles and having them hold their shape. At that time I was working on my “Anemone” series and I thought it would be another anemone. Standing back and taking a look at the completed form, it struck me how those tentacles searching here, there and everywhere were just like us human beings seaching every which way for the things we want in life; and the name stuck. Do we know what we want? What are we looking for?
