Relationships form a central theme in my work. This can be a relationship between a parent and a child, between spouses and partners, between siblings, friends, between a sensei and his/her student. The braided paper twine binds the two. Being made of paper, it's also easily broken, and often times we take for granted the relationships we have with the people who mean the most to us.
